1998年より2008年までNY 在住、NY州立Purchase大学、大学院ダンス科を卒業(平林和子に師事)、修士号修得。NY新人振付賞を受賞 以来 NY, スペイン、サンフランシスコ、日本において公演、創作活動を行う。2000〜2005年スペインとNY間のDance WS、Summer Dance WS in Burgosにおいて、設立アシスタント兼振付家として参加。 2002~2005年2006年よりイスラエルを往来、オハッド・ナハリン(バットシェバ舞踊団芸術監督)の考案したダンスメソッド、GAGAを日本で広める活動を始める。(Gaga Japanを飯名尚人と共に設立)2007年神戸ビエンナーレにおいてCommix Arts Festival 2007をプロデュース、日本で初めてのGagaWSを開催 以来日本におけるGaga WSを主催してきた。2009年よりGaga講師として日本で教え始める。コンポジション講師、コンクールなどの振付も含め振付家としての活動も日本において再開、

Ayako Kurakake was born in Osaka Japan and received her BFA. in Dance from Osaka University of the Arts. From 1991 tp
1998, she dances for the k.Chamnber Dance Company. Ms.Kurakake moved to New York and continued her education in
Dance Composition at the Conservatory of Dance at Purchase College. She graduated with MFA degree under the direction
Burgos Contemporary Dance Company(Spain) during the summer of 2001.
Studio The jean Weill Center for Dance, she was a part of the member of the board.
Ms. Kurakake started research Gaga from Israel by Ohad Naharin from Batsheva Dance Company
2007 She got foundation from Kobe city in order to organize the Kobe Biennale. This was the first event of Gaga in Japan.
Recently her teaching method is not only Gaga but also Composition and dance technique by Kazuko Hirabayashi. Choreographing work for the Competitions.
